If you want to live in the same style you did even a year ago then you need to learn how to save gas. When getting to your job and getting around becomes a priority you really need to focus on how to save gas. Gas costs over $4 a gallon, so we all need to save as much gas as we can and the following tips can help.

Lets help the environment and save a lot on gas by installing one of the new HHO car modification systems. These systems are great and there are several blue prints on the market now. These blue prints give you instructions on how to assemble this simple HHO system on any car and the parts can be picked up at any hardware store.

The way HHOs work is very simple: A small canister is placed in the car and the contents are bicarb of soda mixed with water. The canister is hooked into the battery and it creates HHO gas, which is sent to the manifold or to the carburetor, whichever your car has. This type of system will save you about 30% on your gas. The engine also runs quieter and even more efficiently

If you do less driving you can also save on gas. Do your local errands by walking or riding a bike. You can even buy a motor scooter or motorcycle to do these errands. On longer errands go by car pool or drive to the bus stop or train station.

Drive Less - Other ways that you can save on gas include driving less. As an example if you need to run to the store for something, then either walk or take a bicycle. When you need to go long distances, you can car pool, drive to the nearest bus station and take the bus, or train.

* Get rid of any extra weight. Make sure the trunk and back seats are empty * Look at the pressure in your tires. They need to be inflated to the right pressure so your image will improve. * Turn off the air conditioning only when you are stopped in heavy traffic, but when highway driving be sure to turn it on. Rolling down your windows only creates drag and decreases your MPG * Don’t use any car racks so that everything is kept as aerodynamic as possible. * Wax and clean your car because friction caused by air will cause your car to slow down

Some other basic things you can do which will help you save gas is making sure you change the air filter every 10,000 miles. You should make sure you change spark plugs and change the oil when needed too. Make sure your car is tuned and inspected and always in good shape.

The above tips will help you save on gas and you should also keep your tank full but not over full. Remember added weight causes your car to spend more energy and more gas. Try to use your cruise control when you can, as this will also help you save gas. Follow these tips and paying so much for gas will not affect you so badly.
