Automatic Car Alarms: Don’t Be A Victim Of Car Theft
October 25, 2008
An audible security system that sounds when it notices a possible break-in is a car alarm. These car alarms can make a noisy disturbance which can be very annoying and a lot of the time is ignored. There are a lot more technologically sophisticated vehicle security systems that are available.
In an effort to reduce the number of car thefts that have been costing billions of dollars each year, car manufactures have come up with several different technologies. Things like remotes with two-way communication will warn you when your car’s engine has been started or why the alarm has been activated. Some of the most common car security systems include glass break sensors, two-way communication remotes and passive arming.
A noisy alarm just won’t be heard if you’re not near the car, and if you’re on vacation it could take days for you to even figure out that your car is missing. Certain types of car security systems will place an automatic call to a number you have specified (or send an urgent text) in case of a break in. Alarms that are two-stage can also tell you whether your car has just been jostled or if it is actually turned on and in motion.
If the vehicle is moving, you could communicate to the automatic car alarm to turn off the fuel pump, which will effectively stop the vehicle. Of course, if your car is on the back of a tow truck, stopping the engine will not prevent the theft. Many of the newer vehicle security systems are also equipped with GPS tracking devices to keep tabs on your vehicle’s location.
Preventing Car Jacking: Several models of vehicle security systems are now equipped with car jacking preventative mechanisms. These mechanisms allow you to turn off the supply of gas to the vehicle with the press of a button. Having this safety feature gives you options you would not otherwise have. The feature is generally activated by a switch that is near the seat belt release; when activated it shuts off the fuel supply and applies the brakes to stop the car. This features gives a person a good chance of preventing their car from being hijacked.
Often these systems will alert police in the event of a car jacking. Most systems are intended to quickly notify authorities that something is happening and can be invaluable in life-threatening situations. Approaching a car thief in the middle of stealing your vehicle can be very dangerous. It is better to let law enforcement handle the situation. Once your automatic car alarm informs you with a phone call or text message that the car is being stolen, you can notify the police, who will have a head start on catching the thief in the act.

Automotive Sales Training To Help You Make A Sale
October 24, 2008
The automotive industry is competitive from the assembly line to the car lot. If you are a salesman, you understand the challenge of closing a sale in the current market. You may be wondering what you can do to get an advantage over your competitors.
Though some people have the natural gift to sell automobiles without a problem, other people must work hard and finish sales in automotive training first. The vast majority of salespeople, in fact, must do the training to be successful in sales.
There are several advantages if automotive training in sales is taken. These advantages have to do with the areas and stages of selling. The salesman or saleswoman must make himself/herself known. There is not a big chance of a customer coming up to the lot and telling the salesperson that he/she wants to buy the automobile.
If automotive training in sales is taken, those interested will learn more about the sales process, such as ways to prospect leads and make meetings. One will also understand the process of meeting an interested buyer, telling what the customer’s needs are, and associating the customer with the right car.
Understanding how to cope with customer criticism is a very difficult task of salespeople when selling cars. There are various reasons why someone may criticize the salesperson. The buyer may already be protective before he/she comes to the lot.
Many people have their mind set that they will be taken advantage of. They may have questions for fear that they will be hassled by the salesperson. They do not offer financial information for fears that any information will be used against them at a later time.
You must never let your feelings get a hold of you when buyers are protective, for the criticism may be a question instead. Once you complete training, you will understand a lot better when a buyer is criticizing you or asking a question.
You will definitely increase your sales by a great deal and have customers know where you are coming from if you take auto free sales training. Other industries will not stand a chance when competing with you if you get the right training.
RV Wholesaler and Dealer
October 24, 2008
A wise man once said that if you still feel like you have a good deal on a product years after you have purchased it, then chances are good that it was a good deal to begin with. While the particular quote is attributed to a sales seminar participant, it stands up to inspection and can be applied to many different types of products.
All too often, the consumer has the tendency to overlook the importance of the role that the dealer plays in the equation. But the fact remains that the type of dealer you decide to business with is equally as important as the purchase itself.
While many people are unaware of the fact, vacationing with your family in a recreational vehicle can save up to 70% of the cost of your vacation. With this type of savings, it would seem that the RV purchase would be a win-win situation for any family. With this type of savings, it only makes sense to enjoy an RV camping lifestyle and do away with the usual scheme of hotels and expensive airfare. While the initial investment is large, it breaks down to being highly affordable over the years.
When deciding on your RV dealer, it is critical to know how long that particular dealership has been in business. While it might seem like common sense or redundant, it is important to know how long they have been in business and what type of reputation they have for maintaining service. With the evidence of continuous and long lived service, you can assume that they will provide you with a decent level of customer service and attention.
Secondly, you need to find a dealer that is more concerned about your budget and your needs than just seeing a dollar sign on your forehead. A dealer needs to be openly communicative as well. After all, you don’t want to feel like you’re dealing with a cold fish. The key to the whole scenario is that if you find a recreation vehicle dealer that you are comfortable with, it will make the purchase a much more pleasant experience.
Naturally, you will want to deal with an RV wholesaler, such as Pedata RV in Tucson, Arizona. Offering the luxury of finding the RV that they are looking for online as well as presenting a wholesale ability to purchase RVs from around the country, the RV wholesaler can do so many things that most dealers cannot do.
They specialize in nationwide RV sales of quality new and pre-owned RV’s and they will save you money, therefore making a trip of any distance to their dealership well worth it.
Even if you’re located in another state, it doesn’t matter anymore. The fact that Pedata RV specializes in nationwide online RV sales is combined with the fact that their inventory is second to none, so even if you are sitting at the comfort of your desk, the online shopping is nothing short of enjoyable. Click on the link above and visit this recreational vehicle dealer today. It could save you as much as $10,000 in the process.
How to Choose the Most Convenient Auto Club
October 24, 2008
Choosing an auto club is a very important choice. It isn’t enough to simply choose whatever auto club program comes your way. That is because each auto club is different in that they have their own set of benefits and price ranges. It is important to explore all of these options in order to find the program that is the right program. The wrong program is going to provide you with things you don’t need and those things you do need won’t be available to you. To make sure this doesn’t happen to you, make sure you do your research.
The pros and cons
There are certain pros and cons that must be evaluated when choosing the most convenient auto club. This includes cost, whether or not roadside assistance is included, if travel discounts such as disney world tickets discounts are offered, and if any other discounts are provided to members. When it comes to cost, the cost of an auto club membership can exceed that of your regular roadside assistance. However, the auto club is going to provide you with more benefits.
As mentioned before, there are possible discounts included for when you travel. There are also discounts possibly included when you?re not traveling. For example, you can eat at a restaurant that honors your auto club card and receive 10% off of your meal total. You can also find discounts at retail outlets and outlets on the internet.
In regards to how the discounts work, a travel discount is going to provide you with savings on vacation packages, rental cars, hotels, cruises, and so much more. The discount is only relevant to traveling and nothing else. Other discounts include the restaurants and the retail outlets. A discount program is very important because that means you?re going to save some money while traveling. That is money that can be used to do something extra or eat at that extra special restaurant. Those discounts can also be the difference between staying in a 3 star hotel and staying in a 4 star hotel.
Roadside assistance
Saving money through auto club discounts is great, but roadside assistance is actually the most important part of an auto club membership. This is because roadside assistance is what is going to assist you if you?re stranded without help. It is very important to learn everything possible about the roadside assistance contained within auto club memberships. Here are the specifics that a good roadside assistance program should possess:
- Towing service ? This can pay for the cost of the auto club membership since one towing can cost around $75.
- Tire change service: This is important because a flat tire can occur at anytime. Roadside assistance will summon help to put on your spare tire for you.
- Lockout service: Everyone locks their keys in their car at one time or another. Having a locksmith get the keys out of your car can cost around $30 to $40. Having this assistance provided by your auto club?s roadside assistance is included in your membership.
- Gas and battery service: If you run out of gas, roadside assistance includes gas to be brought to you so that you can get to the next gas station and fill up. They should also give your battery a jump if your battery dies.
All of these services should be included in roadside assistance, so make sure that they are. These services will ensure that you do not become stranded in an unfamiliar or dangerous place.
Do your research
So make sure you do your research before choosing an auto club. Make sure that you can use all of the services provided and that you?re not paying for services you can?t use. Everyone needs to have an auto club membership. Everyone just doesn’t need the same package.
Car Accident: What to Do After
October 23, 2008
No one really likes to think about having an accident with their vehicle, but if you drive, you`re at risk for ending up in a crash, no matter how minor. Luckily, the majority of car accidents are fairly simple and end up only causing minimal damage to the vehicles, but it`s a good idea to know exactly what you should do in the case of a car accident.
1. Check if anyone is injured. Not all injuries will show up right away, but you definitely want to make sure that everyone involved in the car accident is alright. The first concern, if anyone is injured, is to get medical help. You`ll need to stop any bleeding and call 911 to make sure that help is on the way.
2. Divert traffic, if needed. Often, a car accident that immobilizes a vehicle will end up blocking traffic, so it`s a good idea to ensure that there is a way to divert traffic, either with a flare or traffic cones from an emergency kit, or having someone actually wave passing cars around the broken down vehicle. Hazard lights are also a must if they are still functioning.
3. Report the accident. Your car insurance will be useless if you can`t prove that the accident actually happened. So, an accident report should always be filed with the police even in minor fender benders that don`t seem that serious. You`ll need to make repairs and you definitely want the car insurance company to cover it, so make sure that everything is on paper and signed by the police. Stay on the scene until the accident report has been completely filled out.
4. Don`t admit anything. Immediately after an accident, it`s a good idea to keep your mouth shut as to who was at fault. It`s pretty easy to get angry, particularly if you weren`t the one at fault, but that can lead to a much nastier situation. To prevent problems, it`s best to wait until the police arrive. Also, admitting that you were at fault can cause problems down the road, so keep your mouth shut until you can speak with the police or your insurance company.
5. Write everything down. It`s a good idea to keep a pad of paper and a couple of pens in your glove box. This way you can write down all pertinent information that could be useful later on. This includes names of all parties involved, addresses, phone numbers and email, as well as the license plate number, car insurance information and VIN, since these can all be handy later on if the incident goes to court.
6. File an insurance claim. This should be done as quickly as possible after the accident. For minor accidents, you can even call from the scene and make sure that your claim is in as fast as possible. Not only does this mean you can shorten the amount of time that it takes for your claim to go through, you have the added benefit of police officers there to help you explain the situation and give them information.
Auto insurance is vital to have when comes to accidents. While no one wants to be in a car accident, that doesn`t mean you should ignore the worst case scenario. You could be in the position where you need some repairs on the vehicle, thanks to the accident, and rather than having the huge expenses come out of your pocket, your insurance company will take care of it, something that can be no end of relief when everything else is going downhill.
What Are Water Fuel Cells Good For?
October 23, 2008
Have you heard about the latest technology that has caught the attention of environmentalists worldwide? Hydrogen technology is not new and it has been around for many years now. Continuous developments with the technology is being pushed through various governments and institutions because they can see a lot of advantages by using an alternative source of energy like hydrogen fuel.
Automobile engines are generally gas powered but converted cars are now using hydrogen fuel. The best thing about this is you now will have a choice as to which you want to use, hydrogen fuel or gas in your vehicle.
There are many advantages to using hydrogen and fuel cells. Hydrogen gained negative publicity after the 1937 Zeppelin accident in Hindenburg. Because this event was extensively publicized people today still may think that hydrogen is unsafe. If you have done any research on hydrogen, you know that the fuel cells are not hazardous and very easy to operate. With today’s technology, the use of hydrogen is nothing to fear.
Hydrogen can offer a large amount of energy. Fuel cells are powered bye a gas similar to water vapor. This gas is HHO. With the HHO generator, hydrogen and oxygen molecules will be separated. Since water is available just about anywhere, scarcity is not an issue, compared to the availability of oil and its soaring prices.
Fuel Cells are built to last. Converted cars need little maintenance all you need is to check the fluid reservoir. Gas companies are profiting because you haven’t converted your car yet. Still not everyone can get their hands on a Hydrogen car since they’re so limited but in future certainly there won’t a place for combustion engines and therefore these highly economic cars will be on a budget.
Being assured that the use of hydrogen and fuel cells will not pose any danger, will you make the switch to a converted car? All that is necessary to accomplish this change is a hydrogen fuel car kit or boost kit and your car will be running on hydrogen power. In exchange you will gain improved mileage and benefit your home economics by saving hard-earned money.
Presently hydrogen fuel is under continuous research and studies. They are working to find less expensive ways of getting the unstable hydrogen atom. A large portion of the atmosphere is made up of hydrogen, but it is unstable in this form. With all the studies in progress, people can expect a less polluted planet in the future.
Environmental activists are working towards the global use of hydrogen and fuel cells. Each country must decide how best to implement the use of this clean technology. Unfortunately, due to its expense, at this time only the wealthier nations can afford hydrogen technologies.
Advantages Of Train Horns
October 23, 2008
Train horns have been in use since the first locomotive was invented. Engineers use the horns to scare wild animals off the track, and to alert oncoming traffic of the presence of a train approaching a railroad crossing, they are used also to alert passengers that are boarding that it is time to leave. Railroad employee’s often use a train horn when they are working on the tracks and during the switching operations.
When internal combustion began to power the locomotives, the air horns from trucks were used but were not loud enough to be heard over the powerful diesel engines that the locomotives were using. The truck horn design was then upgraded by the railroad company, using oscillation to push the air through a power chamber and vibrate against a nozzle. The position of the diaphragm will allow more air or less air and the constant oscillation of the diaphragm creates waves of air that causes it to produce the sound of the horn. The North American locomotives that were manufactured before 1990 still used the old manual pull cord technique that was known as feathering, which just meant modulation was possible for the horns loudness. During the 1990s locomotive began using pushbutton controls and a pedal was built into the cab below the floor and when the pedal was pressed, it sounded the train horn.
In recent times, train horns have been growing in popularity with the customized car and truck set as an addition to their vehicles. These horns are not typically made for use in cars and trucks, since they are likely to cause accidents when used in traffic. In many locales, their use in vehicles is illegal (check your local laws!). In many municipalities, quiet zones have been established where train horns may not be used except in the event of emergencies. These bans have had the unforeseen and tragic effect of causing many accidents where pedestrians and motorists have not heard a train coming.
Each country has its own meaning of the train horn signals. The standard meaning of the train horn signal vary from current state railway networks, while the train horn signals in the United States will vary from different railway companies.
The signal given by trains in the U.S. as they approach a crossing is this: two long sounds, one short and one long - repeated until the train has cleared the crossing. In the state of Florida, there was a ban on the use of train horns to give this signal in many places, which was lifted just a few years later due to the large number of accidents caused by the inability of trains to sound their horns at crossings.
Although many find train horns irritating, they have a very important purpose and hopefully quiet zones will fall into disuse as people come to understand the importance of train horns.
Discount Auto Insurance - Pay By Your Mileage
October 23, 2008
Discount auto insurance is now available by the number of miles you drive. It is starting to spread across the country. This idea has been around for a long time but now insurance carriers are starting to implement the program. The next time you are getting auto insurance quotes see if it is available.
The concept was first introduced on the west coast as a pilot discount auto insurance program and it was just recently been approved for New Jersey through Progressive insurance. There is only one more company currently I am aware of that offers auto insurance quotes like this; GMAC Insurance who only has it available to those who have Onstar in there vehicles.
Progressive insurance will have a devise attached to you automobile to track the speed you drive, breaking habits and mileage. GMAC’s Onstar has a GPS tracking system and I’m not sure of how they measure your driving habits. This is what causes some concerns.
Some non-profit organizations and government officials are concerned about the tracking measure that will be used. Some feel by adding one of these devises to your car you could be giving up some constitutional freedoms. Another concern is that all people will not be able to benefit from this program. Like people that live in rural areas need to drive further than the average city dweller.
The discount on your auto insurance could be as much as 9% over people that don’t participate in the program. My concern is how much can your premium be increased if your driving habits to fit what the insurance company has set as normal. Also how does the insurance company determine what is the correct breaking pressure?
I’m concerned that if this program is put in place by all the big insurance carriers in the future and if you don’t part take in the program will your insurance rates start at a higher premium. I can how and why the insurance company’s want to offering lower premiums to more responsible drivers that do not travel taht far daily but years down the road how is this going to affect all of us?
This program was released in New Jersey on August 8th of 2008. Let’s see how long it will take to be available in all states. It will also be interesting to see what other insurance companies adopt a similar program.
I believe it should be your decision to make if you want to participate in a program like this. You know how you drive and how far you drive. I am totally open to the concept but I am a little weary about how they might track my driving habits and what they are compared too.
Involved in a Car Accident? Read This Before Making a Claim!
October 22, 2008
Accidents occur all the time, and sometimes, in unfortunate circumstances, you may encounter an accident that could result in grave consequences. However, know that when you figure in accidents, such as road accidents, you have the right to claim your compensation, especially if you have been injured from a road accident.
Since accidents happen randomly, it is very understandable if you will not be aware of your surroundings if and when an accident should involve you. However, staying alert during this time could not only save your life but could also give you all the important details later on that you will be needing when making a claim.
Scene of the Accident
When you get your bearings after the accident, go back to the scene of the accident and recall every detail you can remember. Take pictures of the area where the accident took place; talk to people who saw the whole thing; find out everything you can about the other car involved in the accident such as the driver of the car and his or her companions and type of car; get the plate number if you can; find out if the other car has insurance and get this information; plus other pertinent details.
List down everything you found out as you will need these when you talk to your solicitor about your claim. Don’t forget to get contact details of the other driver and the witnesses as well.
If an officer was around when the accident happened, give your contact information to him or her and likewise get their contact information as talking to them about what really happened will help in filing your car accident claim.
Why You Need a Solicitor
A solicitor can help you understand the kind of claim that you can make, especially a personal injury claim where a road accident occurred that wasn’t your fault but you suffered great physical, mental and emotional stress.
Contrary to what other insurance companies may say, emotional and mental stresses are sometimes more serious than a physical injury. There are also times when the after-effect of your car accident will not manifest until after several weeks have passed already.
For instance, there are now claims being made that whiplash symptoms may not occur right away and only show up after months have passed since your accident.
A solicitor can also list down everything that you need to be compensated for, from loss of income due to the injury to medical treatments, taxi expenses, and, in short, everything that you paid for as a result of this injury from the accident.
Bear in mind that a good solicitor will not charge you for anything if you do not win your case. If you don’t know a good solicitor in the UK, the internet is always a good place to look for one.
If all goes well, depending on how seriously you were hurt and the extent of damages that you are seeking compensation for, you will get your compensation at approximately 8 months after filing for it with your solicitor.
You can claim a compensation amount of as low as 2,000 to 5,000 for minor car accidents and 30,000 for major and unusual car accidents.
